We show coaches a try scored after a great grubber kick try in the red zone in the 22 meter area.
" This grubber kick is so perfectly executed that one can easily call it a "grubber pass" and in the red zone, with all the defenders rushing in
defense, it can be a great try scoring opportunity ." -
Jan Oberholzer
We take a look at the great grubber kick try.
At the last moment he gives a
grubber kick.
The centre picks up the
grubber kick and scores.
The defenders are too late to
stop him.
The flyhalf receives the ball
from the scrumhalf and
attacks the defensive line to
draw the defenders.

The  grubber kick in to the red zone.
( The
red zone: the area inside the 22 meter area where the
defenders use the rush defensive system.)
The flyhalf grubbers the ball into the open area behind the rush
defenders. The defending wing must turn around and the
sweeping  defender is too late.

    Note:
We get to the stage in modern rugby where we know that a well
rehearsed and executed grubber kick in the red zone can have a
    90% success rate.
This means only one thing and that is that coaches must have
this grubber kick move or play up their sleeve.
