We look at a great "8-9-14 Move" or "Crusader Move" from a line-out rolling maul. This move was done in the Test match between the Springboks and France on 23/06/06

" This is the first time that I see this "8-9-14 Move" being done from a line-out rolling maul. The move is usually done from a right hand scrum with a small blind side, a move I call the "Crusader Move", but perhaps it works better from a line-out maul, because more defenders are sucked into the maul. " - Jan Oberholzer
Lets look at the "8-9-14 move" from a line-out maul.

Number 8, Pedrie Wannenburg, at the back of the line-out maul with the ball.

|
NOTE: It will take about 30sec. for video file to load.
He breaks away , draws the first defender and passes to number 9, Fourie du Preez.

Video Clips of the move
Du Preez draws the last defender and passes to number 14, Brent Russel.

Brent Russel is on his way to score a great try.
Note: I really think that this is a completely new version of a old move and I am sure if coaches incorporate the move into their game plan their teams can score many great tries with it.
