Coaching Information : Move of the Week
Week 34
This week we look at a line-out move by Australia, which we call the "Long Throw" line-out move, in their Tri-nations match against the Springboks on Saturday, 14-07-06.
" This is a daring and exciting line-out move and if it is done near the try-line it can be fatal. It is a great move to replace the attacking rolling maul from a line-out near the oppositions try-line. " - Jan Oberholzer
Lets look at the line-out move
NOTE: It will take about 30sec. for video file to load.

The start of the line-out

The dummy jumper joins the line-out
The Line-out Move

The jumper starts a dummy jump, while the player runs to the back

The ball is thrown to the player running to the back
A great move to try, but the most important factor for the move to be successful is to keep the opposition players fixed to the line-out with the dummy runner and jumper.

He catches the ball and is in the clear.
