Week 51
This week we look at a "Centre Switch Move" from a line-out by the Bulls . The move was done in the semi-final match against the Crusaders at Loftus on 12-05-07.
" This is a great back-line move from a line-out if done correctly. In this instance it was done from the wrong line-out ball and the "Dummy Centre Switch Move" was perhaps a much better option in this match situation." - Jan Oberholzer

Move of the Week

The running line and execution of the "Centre Switch Move".
The outside centre start running to the inside for the switch.l
The outside centre run into the waiting defenders.
The flyhalf gives a unders pass(short pass) pass to the switching outside centre, while the inside centre drifts to the outside
Lets look at the move and see hoe we can better the move. 1) In this move the ball is thrown in at the front of the line-out . If the ball is thrown in at the back the defenders at the back of the line- out is drawn in, giving the switching centre more space to run into. 2) If the flyhalf passes the ball to the shifting inside centre and use the switching outside centre as a dummy runner it will be a much more effective move. |
