Exercise / Drill explanation:
1.  Players stand in the grid in pairs
opposite each other,
2.  Each pair is numbered.
3.  When the coach cal the number of a
pair the player with the ball  runs on the
outside to the beginning of the grid, with
his opponent (“the defender”) following
him on the opposite site of the grid.
4. When they enter the grid the defender
must tackle the ball carrier from behind.
Key coaching points:
•  See that the players use the correct basic
technique for the tackle from behind

Equipment:
1)  A ball for each grid
2)  4 Marker cones to form the grid

To teach players the correct basic technique
for the tackle from behind..  
This week we look at a tackle drill, "The tackle from behind drill". This is one of the few drills that teaches players how to
effectively tackle from behind.
