The setting out of the drill
Objective:
To improve players' defensive rucking abilities.
Key coaching point
  •  Coaches must see to it that the players come
    into the ruck from behind and through the gate.
Equipment:
1)  4 Contact shields.
2)  1 Ball
Exercise / Drill explanation:
1)   On the signal of the coach the player with the
ball drives into the bags with the players behind
the ruck running round to do the clean-out and
rucking.

    Note
    It is very important in defensive rucking for the players to get
    behind the ball and drives over the ball, to get a clean ball to take
    the pressure of the scrumhalf.
" Rucking behind the advantage line is very difficult, but very important. Losing a ruck ball behind the advantage line is suicide,
because the defensive line can never be 100% in position. "
