We look at a new rolling maul at the back of the line-out from the Blues, which we appreciable call "the running maul"
" If you look at top rugby teams you will see that most of them start their rolling maus in the center of the line-out, but this "running maul" is done from a ball at the back of the line-out. The success of this kind off maul is that the defence against a maul at the back of the line-out is very thin. Good yards is made quickly with this maul, because all the attackers know where and how to join the maul, why the defenders must scramble to defend against the maul. This can be an excellent maul with which to get over the advantage line and to draw in defenders and the maul can be use at all levels of modern rugby coaching. " - Jan Oberholzer

The attacking players join the maul while the defenders are still upright on the fringes of the maul.
The maul is moving forward at a great pace, while more and more attackers join the maul. Look at the defenders still standing upright and not joining the maul.

Note The coaches must include this "Running maul" in their game plans, because it will be an easy way to get over the advantage line, while coaches are still working on defences for this maul.

It is important that the to note that the success of this new tendency is that the scrum-half must first draw the inside defenders on him and the he gives the short pass.
