This week we look at the new tendency of how
defending teams are stopping the line-out
maul
near their own try-lines. We look at a few
situations where the attacking team wants to
score with a rolling maul from a line-out.
"More and more defending teams are stopping the rolling maul from a line-out near their
try-line and they are using the fact that a attacking team must form the rolling maul to be
effective. The defending pack of forwards now time their shove the moment the attacking
team starts with the forming of the maul i.e. they want the maul to go backwards, while
it is being formed. " -

Note:
If coaches look at this video clips they can see that the timing of the defending pack of  
forwards is very important, because the laws don't allow the defending players to play
the jumper before his feet touches the ground.
That is the reason why the body positions of the defenders are very important and
teams start using the American Grid Iron body positions.( Low body position with the
one hand touching the ground)
