| This week we look at the new tendency of how defending teams are stopping the line-out maul near their own try-lines. We look at a few situations where the attacking team wants to score with a rolling maul from a line-out. |
| "More and more defending teams are stopping the rolling maul from a line-out near their try-line and they are using the fact that a attacking team must form the rolling maul to be effective. The defending pack of forwards now time their shove the moment the attacking team starts with the forming of the maul i.e. they want the maul to go backwards, while it is being formed. | Note: If coaches look at this video clips they can see that the timing of the defending pack of forwards is very important, because the laws don't allow the defending players to play the jumper before his feet touches the ground. That is the reason why the body positions of the defenders are very important and teams start using the American Grid Iron body positions.( Low body position with the one hand touching the ground) |
