This week we look at a new tendency in line-outs. We
show coaches how the
Sharks use a new lifting
technique to get their jumpers even higher.
" This is a great lifting technique which I have been using over the last
few seasons and I am happy that top teams are also utilising this
method." -
Jan Oberholzer
Lets look closely at the lifting method.

The back lifter throws the
jumper even higher, while the
front lifter keep him upright.
The lifters lift the jumper.
1) The front lifter: Grip on the
   lifting  roll on the thighs.
2)
Back lifter: Grip under the
   buttocks.

Video Clips of the lifting method
They back lifter catches the
jumper again and put him down
safely.
    Conclusion:
    1) It is clear that the support  under the buttocks by
the back lifter is an excellent method of lifting the
jumper by pushing him upwards or shoot him up.
    2) The front lifter helps with the initial thrust
upwards and then he keeps the jumper in a upright
    position.
    3) Coaches that still allow their players to lift their
jumpers by clutching onto their trousers clearly
don't understand what effective lifting in the line-
    outs are all about.
