Note:
With the sidestep it is important to draw the defender in the
wrong direction
The ball carrier starts with the
sidestep.
He changes direction and runs
through the gap created by the
sidestep.
He looks the defender in the
eye and takes a big step to his right,
drawing the defender with him.
    Note:
    Side-stepping is a weapon against modern defenses, because it involves  a
    change of direction and we know by now that modern defenses don't like  
    changes of directions.
Coaches can use this step chart to familiarize them with the
steps involved with the sidestep, before they teach it to their
players.
