This week we look at the third of four skills development exercises for the scrumhalf pass or torpedo pass from the ground, we
call it
"The scrumhalf pass exercise 4".
" The greatness of this exercise is that the players running on the edge of the circle call out for the ball and by doing so they put
great pressure on the passes. We know that players must learn how to cope with pressure and this drill do just that."

The technique: The basic skills of executing the scrumhalf torpedo pass
We look at the execution if the first of four scrumhalf passing exercise:
"The scrumhalf pass exercise 4"

    1) All your players must do this execise, because you never
    know when one of your players must use this kind of pass.

The art of the scrumhalf torpedo pass
When picking up the ball the
player put his back foot next
to the ball with his other foot
one step forward
He ends up well forward
with his follow through..
He passes the ball with the
correct grip that produces
the spin on the ball.
The grip on the ball for the torpedo pass.
He swings the ball from the
ground with minimum back
swing to get a quicker pass.
