| We look at "Take the gap drill" |
| He then steps onto his original running line. |
| On the signal of the coach the player starts running and receives a pass from his left. |
| He then steps through the nominated gap. |

| Exercise / Drill explanation: 1. The players wait at cone A, while two players stand at B and C with the ball at player B. 2. On the signal of the coach the first player runs from A and receives a pass from B, then steps from his running and runs through one of the gaps between the tackle bags, immediately stepping back onto his original running line before passing to the player at C. 3. To make the drill more interesting the coach can nominate the opening, by calling gap "1" or "2", after the player receives the pass. |
