Another of the very important running line drills, which we call "The run-around pass drill". This is drill in which players can
learn the correct running lines of the run-around pass.

"Many coaches want to use modern rugby moves, without  teaching their players the correct  running lines. Many of the modern
rugby moves use running line to confuse modern defenses and the "Run-around pass" is one of those running lines."

The first player runs forward
to the first cone.
He passes to the second
player.
He runs around and passes

marker cones in order to learn the correct running line.

1)  6 Marker cones
2)  As many balls as necessary.
The setting out of the drill.
Exercise / Drill explanation:
1) The players line up at A, B and C.
2) The player at A runs forward to the marker
cone
and passes to the player running from B. He
then run around and get return pass from the
player with the ball.
3) He then passes to the player from C who is
busy drifting to D.

Running and passing lines of the Drill
    Note:
    1. It is important for players running
around to first straighten the line before
    passing to the drifting player.
A
B
C
D
    Note:
    1. The player running around creates an extra player in the backline
and because the opposing inside centre must look after the running
around player it creates a man over in the attacking backline.
    2. That is the main reason why the attacking inside centre must shift
to give space for the running around player to run into.
