to the forward runner running straight
into the first channel.

Note: Advantage of the move: This move is designed for the running scrum-half to shield the straight running runner from the first defender. This is a great move to do within ten meters from the opponents try-line and it is nearly impossible to stop the big forward who is receiving the pass.

The execution of the drill
|
" Many teams are now using variations of this short pass move to score when they have a ruck near the oppositions try-line. The important part of the move is that the scrum-half breaks away and draws the first defenders and then gives a short pass to a player running in with a straight running line and who scores by using his momentum." - Jan Oberholzer
