Advantage of the conventional method: 1) In this method the coach can get more players in position to take the kick-off.

Positioning of players in the conventional method.
|
Method 2: The new method.
|
Advantage of the new method:
1) In this method the jumper can get higher in
the air for the ball and he can also be more
stable waiting for the ball, because of the two
players that are supporting him. This is in
other words an extension of the line-outs.

We shall call the two methods the conventional method and the new method. The
obvious difference between the two methods is that in the conventional method the
jumper has only one supporter that is supporting him in the jump and in the new
method the jumpers have two supporters helping them.
Disadvantage of this method:
It is more difficult to get the jumper in
the air and to keep him stable in the air
with only one supporter.
Disadvantage of this method:
You need pinpoint timing for the jump,
because the pocket of three players
must stay together and also cover a
bigger area.
We still recommend the conventional method for schools and lower league teams.
|
We recommend the new method for top teams, because it is a much more secure way to take the kick-offs
