Video Clip:Correct way to scrum against the
scrum-machine.

The problem
Many coaches ask the following question:" Why are we
being pushed back on our own put in, when we had a very
good hit in the scrum?"
To answer this question we must take a look at the way we
practice against the scrum-machine.
On the signal of the coach the pack usually hit the
scrum-machine and then they relax, waiting for the ball to
be put in or for a signal to start pushing.
In a live scrum the moment you relax the opposition start
putting pressure on you and push you back.

How to solve the problem?
The moment a pack hits they must start to push and put pressure on the
opposition, while they wait for the ball to be put in. The optimum is for
the ball to be put in immediately after the hit.
Practice this against the scrum-machine by pushing immediately after
hitting the scrum-machine and not to wait for the put in or the signal.
See the video clip for a example.
